Sugar & Spice Bread
Yield: Makes 1 (1-1/2-pound) loaf
Ingredients:
1
cup water
1/4
cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened
1
teaspoon salt
3
cups bread flour
1/4
cup nonfat dry milk powder
1/4
cup packed light brown sugar
2
teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4
to 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8
to 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2
teaspoons active dry yeast
Preparation:
1.
Measuring carefully, place all ingredients in bread machine pan in order specified by owner's manual.
2.
Program basic cycle and desired crust setting; press start. Remove baked bread from pan; cool on wire rack.
Note:
The spicy-sweet flavor of this loaf makes it a wonderful breakfast bread. The flavor is especially good when the bread is served toasted.
