Catch Some Rays
Yield: Makes 10 to 12 servings
Ingredients:
1
(9-inch) round cake
1
(15X15-inch) prepared cake board, covered, or large plate
1
container (16 ounces) white frosting
6
sugar ice cream cones
Red fruit rollups
Red licorice whip
Preparation:
1.
Trim top and side of cake; place on prepared cake board.
2.
Tint frosting yellow. Frost cake and ice cream cones with yellow frosting.
3.
Cut 2 small slits about 1 inch apart in side of cake with small knife. (Slits should be parallel to top of cake.) Slide wide end of cone into slits, securing cone to cake. Repeat with remaining cones to create sun's rays.
4.
Cut sunglass shapes from fruit rollups and place on cake. Add licorice pieces to create sunglasses and smile.
