Green's "Dare to Dip 'em" Donut

Dazzle those sleepy heads this morning with these adorable mini donuts.

Ingredients
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup buttermilk
  Vegetable oil for frying
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  Chocolate Glaze (recipe follows)
1/2 cup "M&M's"® Chocolate Mini Baking Bits

In large bowl cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. In medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Alternately add one-third flour mixture and half of buttermilk to creamed mixture, ending with flour mixture. Wrap and refrigerate dough 2 to 3 hours. On lightly floured surface roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut into rings using 2-1/2-inch cookie cutter; reserve donut holes. Heat about 2 inches oil to 375°F in deep-fat fryer or deep saucepan. Fry donuts, 2 to 3 at a time, about 30 seconds on each side or until golden brown. Fry donut holes 10 to 15 seconds per side or until golden brown. Remove from oil; drain on paper towels. Cool completely. Place donut holes and powdered sugar in large plastic food storage bag; seal bag. Shake bag until donut holes are evenly coated. Prepare Chocolate Glaze. Dip donuts into glaze; decorate with "M&M's"® Chocolate Mini Baking Bits. Store in tightly covered container.
